Oregon’s Wine Country offers an unparalleled variety of landscape, crops, scenery and businesses, and nowhere is it more evident than along the stretch of Route 47, which ambles north-south from McMinnville to Forest Grove, through the historic towns of Carlton, Yamhill and Gaston.
Sip47 is more than a scenic, less-traveled path of discovery and adventure through Oregon’s Wine Country – it’s a discovery. The approximately 35 businesses along the Route are primary family-owned, and are committed to artisanal time-honored methods of winemaking, cheesemaking and olive production, and to sharing the experience with visitors.
Sip47 values the rich agricultural history of their community. The tasting room at David Hill Winery is housed in a restored 1883 farmhouse, many of the tasting rooms in Carlton are housed in a former train depot, a restored Main Street bank and other historic houses in town.
Sip47 values the land. Some of our wineries, including David Hill boast some of Oregon’s oldest planted vineyards. Many of the wineries are certified sustainable or organic, or, such as Montinore Estate, farm 240 acres entirely biodynamically.
Sip47 values its unique offerings: not just award-winning Pinot Noir but artisan blends, of grapes grown in the valley and in the Southern Oregon AVA. Dessert wines, Italian varietals and French Burgundies.
We’re happy to share our rich heritage with you. As with many of the winemaking regions in the state of Oregon, we have a passion for bringing the best to market and to our visitors.
Hi There,
I am a chair person for a Portland area non-profit foundation. We are putting together an auction to benefit a Portland area Elementary School and are interested in working with Sip 47 to promote the wineries as a part of a get-a-way package. We are interested in promoting the concept of Sip47 in our auction and would like to talk with someone in Sip47 to discuss this further, etc
thanks
Mike
